Qualifications and Process 

Wisconsin PRIMA has a long history supporting college students pursuing a degree in insurance, risk management, safety, human resources, or actuarial sciences.  Two scholarships will be awarded annually to students meeting the following criteria. 


  • Enrolled in a college or university in the State of Wisconsin
  • Pursuing a degree in insurance, risk management, safety, human resources, actuarial services, or similar
  • Completed at least one complete year of post secondary schooling
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better


The scholarship committee will choose applicants to interview virtually.  Upon completion of the interviews, two winners will be chosen.  There will a $3,500 and $1,500 scholarship awarded.  The $3,500 scholarship recipient will also be named a member of the Wisconsin PRIMA Board of Directors, which will include the following opportunities.  


  • Active voting member of Board of Directors for a one year period
  • Attend full day Board Retreat in the summer
  • Participate regular virtual board meetings
  • Attend quarterly membership meetings in person or virtually
  • Assigned to scholarship committee to improve the program and select future award winners


Wisconsin PRIMA also offers a FREE membership to any student at a College or University that is a current Wisconsin PRIMA member (only $125).  This allows any student to participate in quarterly meetings which provide an opportunity to learn more about public risk management and network with professionals in the industry.
